Jim Benton grew up on a farm in Michigan. During his childhood, their family tradition was hunting. Jim quickly learned how to hunt small game and deer. His passion for hunting soon grew into a lifestyle that continues today.

An accomplished business leader, Jim is owner of Great Lakes Superior Walls, a precast concrete manufacturer of residential foundations based in Hamilton, Michigan. Jim has provided the foundations for some of the most beautiful log cabins of hunters and anglers throughout the outdoors. The success of Great Lakes Superior Walls has afforded Jim the opportunity to travel the world as an ambassador for hunting and sportsmanship. 

 

Jim Benton’s hunting travels have taken him all over the world. If there were a classification entitled “extreme hunting,” Jim would be the foremost expert. Jim enjoys the type of hunting that pushes him to the limits both physically and mentally. He has hunted all species of North American big game including moose, Alaskan brown bear, deer, and elk among others. He has also been tested by the frigid ice flows of the Arctic, hunting the elusive polar bear. He is one of only a few professional hunters to take two trophy polar bears from the Arctic on the same hunt. Jim Benton has also endured the sweltering heat of the Sonora Desert, hunting wide-racked mule deer. Other trips have taken him as far as Zambia to hunt the deadly African lion. Highly respected and accomplished in the great outdoors, Jim is also a pro-staff hunter for Thompson Center Arms.

Jim’s commitment to the sport takes him on the road approximately 26 weeks a year. His goal for his show is to create a connection between hunters, outfitters, product manufacturers, and advertising partners to share information and ideas with a common goal — experience the outdoors to the fullest. Jim accomplishes an outstanding cinema representation of his outdoor adventures through the use of highend filming equipment such as Digital Betacam as well as innovative production gear including underwater cameras, micro-cameras and jibs. His production crew has years of experience specializing in the outdoors, including worldwide work for The Outdoor Channel, ESPN II and OLN.

Always prepared and a stickler for detail, Jim is a worthy adversary in any climate, any hunt, anywhere. He is proficient and skilled whether hunting with a firearm or a bow. Jim Benton is a true American sportsman at its finest.
